3.1 The main window



With the main window you are able to control and watch the current play-process.
The main window has pop-up help. Try holding the mousepointer over an object. The main window consists of standard control-buttons and is able to include the following:

Timer
  • The timer is located to the right of both the buffer-display and the position bar.
  • This shows the position, in seconds, of the current song.

3.2 The playlist




The playlist has pop-up help. Try holding the mousepointer over an object. The playlist consists of the following elements:

Up-down arrows

  • These two arrows moves the songselector/songselection up or down respectively.

The other buttons
  • Clear will clear the contents of the playlist.
  • Insert will open a filerequester in which you can choose which songs to add to the playlist.
  • Remove will remove the currently selected song from the playlist.
  • Save ss... will save the current playlist to a file.
  • Open... will load a saved playlist from a file.

3.3 The settings window

The settings window, and it's subgroups, has pop-up help. Try holding the mousepointer over an object.
The settings window has 3 global buttons:

  • Save will save the current settings, and close the settings window.
  • Use will use the current settings, and close the settings window.
  • Cancel will undo changes (If any), and close the settings window.



3.31 Misc


  • 3.311 Options - Misc. options.


    • Play at startup - Instantly start playing from the default playlist on startup.
    • Random play - Random picking of songs in the playlist.
    • Repeat list - When end of playlist is reached, then start over.
    • Add recursive - Add songs recursively to the playlist.
    • Check valid - Check if songs are valid before adding them to the playlist.

  • 3.312 Paths - Path selections.


    • Default - Playlist to load on startup.
    • Playlist path - Default path for loading and saving of playlists.
    • Song path - Default song path.

  • 3.313 Buffer - Buffer settings.


    • Audio buffer - Audio buffer, eh ;-).
    • Audio buffer used, before playing - Amount of audio buffer to fill before playing starts.
    • File IO buffer - File I/O buffer.

  • 3.314 Priority - Priority settings.


    • GUI - GUI priority, eg. the TAG-display's scrolling will benefit/suffer from this setting.
    • Decoder - Decoding process priority. It is recommended setting this lower than the Player's priority.
    • Player - Playing process priority. It is recommended setting this above the Decoder's priority

  • 3.315 Layout - Layout settings.


    • Big (all controls) - This layout is the default setting, showing the full main GUI with TAG-display, buffer visualization and so on.
    • Small - Using this option will remove all fancy stuff from the main GUI, and only leave the control-buttons on screen.
    • TAG background - Pick an image for display in the TAG-display's background. This option was the first step made in direction of full 'skins' support (shhhhh! ;-)).

3.32 Hotkeys




  • Popup - Hotkey for Pop-up help.
  • Rewind - Select previous song from playlist.
  • Play - Play song, which is current selected in playlist.
  • Forward - Select next song from playlist.
  • Stop - Stop song, which is currently playing.
  • Pause - Pause song, which is current playing.

3.33 Decode




Layer2- and Layer3-settings are individual, though they are setup exactly the same way.
  • Mono - Settings for songs in Mono.
    Quality - Output quality.
    Freq. division - Frequency division. If set to 1, songs will be played in full quality.

  • Stereo - Settings for songs in Stereo.
    Quality - Output quality.
    Freq. division - Frequency division. If set to 1, songs will be played in full quality.
    Force mono - Force mono-decoding of songs in stereo. Very useful for freeing up some cpu-power.

3.34 AHI




  • AHI mode - Select AHI-mode for output.
  • Mixing frequency - Output frequency.
  • Maximum frequency - Only play songs which are encoded below or at this frequency.

3.35 Plugins




This setting sub-window consists of a listview of plugins and the following controls:
  • Prefs - Show current plugin's seperate prefs-window, if any.
  • Show - If the currently selected plugin has some kind of visualization, this will activate it.
  • Hide - If the currently selected plugin has some kind of visualization, this will hide it.
  • About - Show current plugin's seperate about-window, if any.
  • Load - Load plugin into TMLG, and list it in the plugin-listview.
  • Remove - Unload selected plugin, and remove it from the plugin-listview.
